The Sheldon Police Department is accepting applications for the position of full-time Police Officer.  

Minimum Qualifications:  

• 21 years of age  
• U.S. citizen  
• Valid Driver’s License with safe driving record  
• No Felony Convictions  
• High School diploma or GED  

• Ability to obtain Illinois FOID Card

The Testing Process will include:  
• Oral Interview Panel After a Conditional Offer of Employment,  
 

Applicants will be subject to:  
• Thorough background check with fingerprinting  
• Must meet state mandated minimum training hours each year to obtain and maintain police certification. 
• Medical Examination with Drug Screen
